Frequently Asked Questions
Who is St. Louis FamilyCamp for?
Everyone. If you are from a family, in a family, have a family, or want to have a family of your own some day, then this camp is for you. And it is not only for what we often call the “ideal family” (i.e., a Dad and Mom, Son, and Daughter), but it is for all kinds of families; large, small, and “different”. In fact, the way we define family, “someone to lead and someone to follow”, includes husbands and wives, single parents and children, grandparents and grandchildren, older siblings and younger siblings, guardians and those in their care, and the list goes on and on. Everyone is welcome and invited.
What if I want to attend FamilyCamp, but can’t afford it?
While we have done our very best to keep the cost of camp down, we know that not everyone will be able to afford to attend FamilyCamp. We would love to be able to provide scholarships in the future for those who need them, but for right now it would probably be best to ask your church if they might provide some assistance.
What can we expect at camp?
Expect to spend time with your family, in the Word, worshipping the Lord, and having fun. There will be great food, tons of free time, and many fun and exciting activity options. The overall focus will be on families connecting to each other and God. You can expect to see a caring and considerate staff that is committed to providing a quality, well-organized, and meaningful experience for your whole family. Check out the Camp 2010 page for more details.
How did St. Louis FamilyCamp begin?
St. Louis Family Camp came about due to the deep convictions and genuine cravings of a few men’s hearts that the family needs to be restored. Through much prayer, humbled hearts, many passionate and purposeful conversations, and an unwavering commitment to God’s Word, St. Louis FamilyCamp has been born with the vision to grow to full maturity for the glory of God in Christ Jesus.
How did the name “St. Louis FamilyCamp” come about?
It is simple and descriptive of what we are all about. At the ground level, we are a camp, which is a mixture of a conference and a retreat. It is for families, which distinguishes us from youth camps, kid’s camps, and boot camps. And while it is open for everyone, everywhere, it is designed with families from the St. Louis metropolitan area, including every city from Troy, MO. to Troy, IL.
