Reaching the World and Reforming the Church by Restoring the Family

In short, the vision for St. Louis FamilyCamp is that…

“All the ends of the earth shall remember and turn to the LORD, and all the families of the nations shall worship before you.” — Psalm 22:27

We want to see and be a part of families worshipping the LORD.  What does this mean?  It means that families will remember and turn to Him together as the only Savior and King in humble faith, glad adoration, and faithful surrender.  But a family worshipping the Lord together is only the beginning, not an end in itself.  For while we believe that “God has ordained the family as the foundational institution of human society”, we also believe that God has ordained the family as the impacting institution of human society.  If the family is not restored, then we will have no foundation of human society from which to impact human society.  This is why our vision is not merely that the family be restored, but that the Church be reformed and the world be reached by the restoration of the family.

However, it is not as though we can move on from restoring the family once we’ve completed that task, for it will never be finished.  We do not move up and on from the family to the church to the world.  The ultimate goal is to reach the world as we reform the Church and restore the family.  For if we neglect the family or the church or world, then we will fail at all three.

Therefore, we must restore the family for it is the foundation of the Church being reformed and the world being reached, but we must seek to restore the family as we are reforming the Church and reaching the world with our families.  If we are to fully love and serve our families, then we must take them with us as we seek to reform the Church and reach the world.  The spiritual training of our children and leading of our wives and families will never be complete if we do not partially seek to do so by helping them to serve the church and the world with us.

The vision of St. Louis FamilyCamp is that all the families of the world will remember, turn to, and bow down in humble, faith-filled, and joyous worship of the One and Only Savior-King Supreme!  But we know that in order for this to happen, the world must be reached as we also reform the church and as we restore the family.

We seek to do this through an annual family camp and continuous online resources for families that are meant to encourage, challenge, and equip them for the kind of restoration that also reforms the Church and reaches the world with the Gospel truth of Jesus Christ all for the glory of God.
